DEFUNIAK SPRINGS POLICE POST PSA ON THE BEHALF OF DBPA - CANCELED!
This is the Public Service Announcement (PSA) that the DeFuniak Springs Business and Professional Association (DBPA) released after early morning meeting.
Due to the impending inclement weather anticipated for today, the DeFuniak Springs Business and Professional Association (DBPA) has canceled their scheduled 4th of July festivities including the parade and fireworks.
According to DBPA President Sara Comander, "I am disappointed that we will be unable to host our 24th Annual event due to the bad weather that has rolled in this week. While the rain puts a damper on our festivities, it cannot hinder the sense of pride we have when celebrating our independence."
At this time, the DBPA has rescheduled the event to take place on Labor Day weekend, which this year falls on September 1st. They feel it is important to hold the festivities on another holiday that represents what makes America great.
