MY dog was hit by a car and had to take it to an ON CALL vet n another city. Not only did he have to fight to stay alive all the way to Dothan when i was 10 min from a vet were i live! But when we arrived at SOUTHEAST AL VET HOSP. all they were concerned with was the $!! $500.00 now up front and $250.00 more if we keep him. Another couple sat in the lobby clutching a blood soaked sheet wrapped around a little chihuahua that was bleeding very bad. They were on the phone pleeding to let them borrow $100.00 or the Vet wouldnt see them. HOW DID WE COME TO THIS????? WHEN DID WE GET TO THE SO CALLED ANIMAL LOVING DR'S (vets) BECOME MONEY BEFORE ANIMALS!!! WHAT IF WE HAD TO FIND AN "ON CALL" HOSPITAL WHEN WE NEEDED ONE AFTER HRS??? WHAT IF WE COULDNT BE SEEN UNTIL WE PAID $500.00 ON THE SPOT!!?? Is there anything that can be done to help these babies that love us unconditionally and forgive us for everything? Or do we have to let them die because we dont have the $ right then and there!?

I am sorry you had this experience and I hope your dog made it. I used this clinic after hours about 10 months ago and was pleased with their service. My dog hurt his bakc legs and was in a great deal of pain. They helped him and told me up front about the extra $100 charge for emergency treatment. I gladly paid it plus the xrays and meds. I was pleased with the care we received. I hope the emergency charge has not gone up to $500.
