(Dothan, AL) – The Wiregrass Museum of Art is pleased to announce this year’s summer art camps. The museum will feature three separate camps highlighting different aspects of visual arts. This is the second year the museum is offering weeklong classes. In response to last year’s popularity, more sessions have been added this year. Register now—space is limited! Don’t Forget!
Art Attack! is a camp all about creativity and fun. Whether a budding artist or just a kid with an active imagination – everyone will have fun as they learn art fundamentals and display their masterpieces in the Art Attack showcase at the week’s end. Art Attack for ages 6-9 will be held June 24-28, Monday through Friday. The camp for ages 10-13 will be held July 15-19. Sessions will be held in the morning, from 9am to 12noon, and afternoon, from 1-4pm. Prices are $95 for members and $105 for non-members.
Art Around the World gives children the chance to explore the world through various art forms. Kids will travel to a different country each day, learn the culture and customs, and create a work of art native to that region. This camp is available for children ages 5-10. It will be held August 5-9 from 9am-12noon. Prices are $95 for members and $105 for non-members.
WAITLISTED—Play in the Clay! is a pottery camp where kids can learn a variety of ceramic techniques and create three projects to take home. Due to drying and firing time, campers create their work during the week and return the following Thursday for glazing and decoration. Play in the Clay is available for children ages 5-9. It will be held July 23-26 and August 1 (glazing day) from 10:30-11:30am. Prices are $55 for members and $65 for non-members.
