World No Tobacco Day will be recognized Thursday, May 31st, and smokers are asked to abstain from smoking for the day.Tobacco use is considered the leading cause of preventable death. The Alabama Department of Public Health has a tobacco quitline to assist users who would like to quit. The number is 1-800-QuitNow (1-800-784-8669) or by website (www.alabamaquitnow.com).
