Zonta Club of Dothan Hosts Monthly Meeting

DOTHAN) Zonta Club of Dothan recently held its monthly meeting and honored Zontian and aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. Candidates for District 5 Dothan Commissioner Beth Kenward, Mary Beth Reynolds and Rhonda Pasibe spoke to the membership about their challenges in running for office.
The keynote address was given by Almas Khan, a student at the Aviation College of Alabama. Khan was introduced by Zonta Vice-President Fauzia Qureshi.
Noor Qureshi, an eighth grade student at Carver Magnet School, was presented with the Amelia Earhart Middle School Essay Contest Award. Qureshi’s $100 prize was presented by Dr. Jennifer Marsden.
Treasurer Gretchen Schulz, President-Elect Dianne Marshburn and President Leslie Hicks inducted new member Terrie Daughtry into the organization.
Zonta International is a leading global organization of business people and professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. Zonta has over 30,000 members in 67 countries. It also has close ties with the United Nations and serves as a nongovernmental advisor to the UN on women’s issues.
