           Connie Lindsey Cox, a resident of Ft. Gaines, Georgia, passed away Thursday morning, September 10, 2026, at her home. She was 74.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. (EDT) Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, near Ft. Gaines, with Reverend Randy Stokes officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Flowers will be accepted.

Connie Cox was born and raised in Clay County, Georgia, near Ft. Gaines, daughter of the late Vernon Eugene Lindsey and Louella Colvin Lindsey. She lived in Abbeville for many years before returning to Clay County in 2013. Connie was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where she formerly played the piano. In earlier years, Connie owned and operated The Abbeville Florist. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Julius Edward Cox, III.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Stewart Michael “Mike” Ussery; three daughters, Gena Blackford (Mark), Dothan; Barbara Jones (Eric), Headland; and Julia Pearson (Ken), LaGrange, GA; a brother, Billy Lindsey (Jana), Ft. Gaines; grandchildren, Matthew Jones (Holly), Madison Jones, Connor Jones, Avery Pearson, Karsen Pearson and Drew Pearson.

Serving as active pallbearers will be the grandsons and Paxton McCoy and Lawton Bevis.
