HEADLAND. . .Deloris Reeves Bond, a resident of the Tumbleton Community of Henry County, passed away Sunday morning, June 28, 2026, at her home. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2026 in the Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Clayton Nowell and Elder J. C. Stanaland officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery with Elder Thomas Bond and Elder Kenneth Nowell officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church, P.O. Box 401, Headland, AL 36345.
Mrs. Bond was born and raised in Wicksburg, Alabama, daughter of the late Clester Huey Reeves and Mamie Jewell Collins Reeves. She was a 1954 graduate of Wicksburg High School. Mrs. Bond lived in the Tumbleton Community since 1966. She was an active member of Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Bond was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Earl Bond, a sister, Demaris Tindell and a brother, Louis Reeves.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Nancy Nowell (Elder Clayton Nowell), Headland; a sister, Darlene Ashe (Jamie), Cuba, AL; a brother, Aubry Reeves, Northport, AL; brothers-in-law, Rufus Bond and Dan Tindell; grandchildren, Timothy Nowell (Melissa), Kenneth Nowell (Sara), and Jonathan Nowell; great-grandchildren, Dakota Nowell, Peter Nowell, Andrew Nowell, Kendra Nowell, James Nowell, Eleanor Nowell, Connor King, Owen Franklin, Noah Franklin and Lucy Franklin; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jerry Snellgrove, Birdie Bond, Thomas Dale Bond, Stanley Tindell, Dennis Bond and Anthony Bond.
