WEBB, ALABAMA. . .Doris Simmons Barley, a resident of Webb, Alabama, passed away early Sunday morning, September 20, 2026, in Westside Terrace in Dothan. She was 89.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in the Webb Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Willis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the Ashford City Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Barley was born and raised in Samson, Alabama, daughter of the late Chester Simmons and Alma Cobb Simmons. She was a graduate Samson High School. Mrs. Barley formerly lived in Samson and Ashford before moving to Webb in 1976. She was retired from Ansell, Inc as Vice-President of Sales. Mrs. Barley was an avid sports fan and enthusiastic supporter of the Auburn Tigers for many years and was a member of Tigers Unlimited of Auburn University. She was an active member of Webb Baptist Church where she formerly served as Director of Sunday School. Mrs. Barley was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lavaughn Joseph Barley and two brothers, Charles Edward Simmons and Joe Harold Simmons and a brother-in-law, Joel Kenneth Alford.
Surviving relatives include a sister, Sylvia Simmons Alford, Athens, AL; sisters-in-law, Nina Barley Scott, and Clara Jean Barley McLean; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Gregory Charles McLean (Tiffany), Michelle Coffey, Kevin Simmons (Hayden), Amy Hearn, Brian Simmons and Jessica Scott.
