Dorothy Louise Johnson

Dorothy Louise (Powell) Johnson, 74, formerly of Illinois, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2026, at her home in Dothan, following an extended illness.

Dorothy was born April 17, 1952, in Danville, Illinois to the late Harry & Hellen (Lamb) Powell. She attended Danville High School in Illinois and worked, spent the early years of her life as a homemaker and later worked as an associate for Kmart. Dorothy loved cooking and found great joy in making quilts for others to enjoy. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of almost 56 years, Harry Johnson of Dothan; her children, Windy Vadder (Josh) of Paris, IL, and Thersa Rollings (Eric) of Champagne, IL, Timothy Johnson (Sarah) of Oblong, IL, and Daniel Johnson of Dothan; her eight grandchildren, Brittany Hoult, Christopher Hoult, Emily Thomas, Hailey Bednor, Dakota Johnson, Baley Johnson, Keley Johnson, and Benjamin Johnson; and four great-grandchildren.

Per her wishes no services will be held at this time.
