JOY SEWELL WYRICK

COWARTS… Joy Sewell Wyrick, a resident of Cowarts, Alabama, passed away Friday afternoon, June 12, 2026. She was 61.

A memorial visitation will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the home of  Casey and Ali Wyrick in Webb.

Mrs. Wyrick was born in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late Allen Marion Sewell and Lola Christine McClain Sewell. She attended Chester County High School and graduated with the Class of 1982. After living in Henderson, Tennessee, she later settled in the Wiregrass area, where she made her home for the past thirty-three years. Known for her strong work ethic and caring nature, she worked as a seamstress for many years, taking great pride in her craft and the work she provided for others.

Above all else, Mrs. Wyrick cherished her family. She was a devoted wife who deeply loved her husband and treasured the life they built together. She was a loving and proud mother whose children were among her greatest blessings, and she found immeasurable joy in being a grandmother. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and brought endless happiness to her life. She also dearly loved her extended family and valued every opportunity to spend time with those she held close. Her kindness, love, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Wyrick, and brothers, Randall Sewell and Steve Allen Sewell.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her sons, Justin Wyrick (Michelle), and Jonathon “Casey” Wyrick (Ali); grandchildren, GraceLynn, Lillyann, Lola, Lane; sisters, Sandra Scarbrough, Tina Latimer (Dennis), Doris Smith; brothers, David Haase; several other loving family members and friends.
