Ross Perot stated Under NAFTA (that giant sucking sound you hear is jobs leaving the United States). Bimbo which owns Sara Lee and other multiple product lines came in under NAFTA in 1994. They are Mexican Owned. Mexico now has more poor people than ever before in its history. World Bank and Mexican government statistics show there has been a sharp increase in poverty in the countryside. An estimated 75% of rural Mexicans live in poverty, and over half are in extreme poverty. Most live on 2.00 a day or less. American workers wages can't compete. The purpose of NFATA is to have Americans living like the poorest of the world. This job lost is directly caused by NFATA. I hope our Mayor and his group saw this coming. You have 128 people who know how to run a bakery for profit. We in the Wiregrass love bread products. Mayor , keep this Business open. The Wiregrass will support a local made product over a imported product. Saving a 128 jobs would look good on your resume Mayor.

Wasnt it reported that the bakery closed because of outdated equipment and therefore could not keep up with production?Bill Shealey do you have something against people who speak Spanish? Where were you when our mayor was in overseas gaining jobs for our area? You missed the boat on your comment. Perhaps it may mean nothing to you all the hours he has put in bringing industry here and working for charity but we noticed. I voted for Mike and would again. Your post has nothing to do with the bread factory closing. yankee - Mar 30 2012 12: AM 07:45
