I retired from the Army in May 2009. I put on about 70 pounds within my first year of retirement. My doctor told me that if I do not do something about my weight, that I would get diabetes. Well in Novemeber of 2011 my eye sight started to become blurry at night. I just thought I was tired a lot. Then a week later, my vision become blurry during the day while driving down the road. I was unable to read the signs until I got right up on them. Another week goes by and I can't see acrossed the room. One more week I can only see about 6 feet in front of me and my wife ordered me to go to the doctor. They tested my blood and they were shocked that I was even walking. They immediately put me on Metphormin and in about a week my sugar levels got down to about 400. I was able to lose a few pounds and got it around 135. It wasn't until I got on Visalus, that my levels got to around 100. So I experimented without my meds and my sugar stayed at around 100 3 months later, awesome.
