Emily Wilkinson, age 67 of Skipperville, Alabama passed away March 20, 2025, in a Dothan hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 24th at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Clio. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m., on Monday until the time for the services. Rev. Randy Adams and Rev. Russell Hagler will officiate. Special music will be provided Meredith Waddell and Beverly Danford. Interment will follow in the Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Oakes, Stan Adams, Andy Littlefield, Trevor Littlefield, Johnny Godbold, Keith Jones, Alan Turner and Jay Fenn.
Left to cherish her memory, loving husband of 47 years, Larry Wilkinson; daughter, Whitney Sutton (Chris) of Skipperville; grandchildren, Paisley Sutton and Macie Kate Sutton; nephew, Keith Jones (Marcy) of Dothan, AL. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Shehane and Billie Holt Baxter Shehane and her sister, Linda.

A 1976 graduate of Barbour County High School, Emily received a master’s degree in elementary education from Troy University. She began her teaching career at Clio Elementary School, and continued as the school combined with  Louisville Elementary School, and later as Barbour County Intermediate School.
After retirement she continued teaching part time at G.W. Long School, Dixie Academy, Lakeside School, and Abbeville Christian School. She was a beloved teacher and made a tremendous positive impact on many students through the years.
