Enterprise native Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) was named a deputy whip for Senate Republicans in the 119th Congress.
Majority Whip Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) named Britt as one of ten deputy whips to count votes and unite the Republican Conference, calling her an “incredible advocate” for families, according to Alabama Daily News.
“I am honored Sen. Barrasso chose me to join his team as one of the deputy whips,” Britt said in a statement. “Our new Senate Republican majority has a tremendous opportunity to get things done and enact President Trump’s agenda. As deputy whip, I am excited to help unite our conference and make a difference in the lives of hardworking Americans.”
Britt is on the Judiciary, Appropriations, Banking and Rules committees.
