Eva Gant Hammond of Kinston, AL (Revels Store community) passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at her home. She was 79 years old.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 02, 2025 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 5:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity in her memory.

Eva was born on October 01, 1945 in Geneva County, AL to the late Buddy and Geraldine Burkett Gant. She was an accomplished artist and painter, who enjoyed doing crafting and all kinds of art. She also spent time sewing, traveling and enjoyed gospel music. Eva was an avid animal lover, but especially enjoyed horseback riding. Her family was her greatest love and she relished in every minute that she spent with them, especially her daughter, Gina and grandson, Bryce. She loved life and lived it to it’s fullest. There was never a dull moment when Eva was near. She will truly be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Hammond; later in life friend, Charles Alford and the very special father who raised her, Wilford Zorn.

Eva is survived by one daughter, Gina Sheffield (Stephen) of Samson, AL; one grandson, Bryce King of Samson; two step grandsons, Shane Sheffield (Jessie) of Coffee Springs, AL and Colby Sheffield (Baylee) of Enterprise, AL; two step great grandchildren, Whitley and Emmie Jane Sheffield, both of Coffee Springs, AL and a number of very special cousins, extended family and friends.
