Eva Rupel (Herrington) McInnish, 91, a long-time resident of Cowarts, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at her home following an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2025, at Cowarts Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith and Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 3257 E. Cottonwood Road, Dothan, AL 36301.

Eva was born February 10, 1934, in Ashford to the late Obie & Effie (Bruner) Herrington. She was a graduate of Ashford High School and attended some college following her graduation. She worked in the Civil Service as a secretary to the Commanding General of Fort Rucker for 25 years. She was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Forrester McInnish; her parents; one daughter; and one grandchild. She is survived by her two sons, one daughter, eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice for the love and care shown to their loved one during this very difficult time.
