
Fannie Pearl Taylor Linton of Samson, AL passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026. She was 96 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Snell officiating and Anna Clark delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday night from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery in Samson with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida, Inc. 5200 Bayou Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32503.
Mrs. Linton was born in Pike County, AL on August 02, 1930 to the late George Washington and Lorene Gunter Taylor. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed baking, sewing and taking care of her family. She retired from the textile industry and the retail sales industry with Family Dollar stores. She believed in hard work, honesty and integrity, values that she taught all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, J B Linton; one daughter, Jean Clingan; one grandson, Chad Norris and two sisters, Catherine Cook and Tiny Merritt.
Mrs Linton is survived by two daughters, Tressie Paul of Samson, AL and Nell Sims (James) of New Brockton, AL; four grandchildren, Shannon Clark (Shannon) of New Brockton, AL, Susan Paul (Chad) of Samson, AL, Jackie Paul McCann of Samson, AL and Jason Sims (Sabrina) of New Brockton, AL; eight great grandchildren, Sarah, Katie, Anna, Jade, Jackson, Fisher, Cody and Harley; six great-great grandchildren, Noah, Joseph, MaKayla, H.J., Ryker and Bayla; one brother, William Taylor (Carolyn) of Auburndale, FL and a number of special nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Sims, Shannon Clark, Chad Hendrix, Jason Sims, Jackson McCann and Fisher Hendrix.
