She was a graduate of Newville High School and attended Wallace Community where she received a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Granny Faye served as a nurse at Flowers Hospital for thirty-nine years and was loved by her co-workers and patients. She loved cooking huge, delicious meals for family and friends. Everyone was welcome at Granny Faye’s table. Granny Faye loved fishing, and no fish was too small for her frying pan. Granny loved to garden and put up vegetables. She could cook a delicious meal in a few minutes using her garden vegetables and baking her yummy biscuits and frying her mouthwatering cornbread. She loved animals and hated to see an animal go hungry or be mistreated. Many times, she used her nursing skills to help injured and sick animals. Granny Faye had a great sense of humor. Sometimes she would make jokes about her age. She always kept a cartoon on her refrigerator that said , “All my friends in Heaven probably think I didn’t make it.” She lived in Webb most of her adult lifetime where she was a member of Center Baptist Church.
