FJ Swain


FJ Swain, a resident of Webb, Alabama died Monday, November 24, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 78.

Visitation will be held from 5PM to 6PM, Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Glover Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in FJ’s honor to Ashford Rescue Squad, 205 Midland Street, Ashford, AL, 36312 or The Southeast Health Foundation, 1108 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL, 36301.

FJ was born to the late JB and Ruby Mulkey Swain on September 8, 1947 in Pike County, Alabama. After graduating from Charles Henderson High School, he joined the military, serving his country in the United States Army, following his service he attended Troy University where he majored in Business and minored in Commercial Arts. FJ began his career at Southeast Health in medical records retiring after twenty-three years. His hobbies included painting art, running grandaddy day care and working in his yards.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Preston Swain; and a sister, Hazel Bell.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Sonja Moats Swain; two daughters, Brooke Childree (Josh) and Allison Swain; four grandchildren, Joey Phillips-Dannels, Carson Swain, Graysen Childree and Alayna Childree; one brother, MJ Swain; three sisters, Betty Hudley (Fred), Frankie Nelson (Earl), and Martha Crawley.
