
Franklin Culbreth
Franklin Culbreth, 93, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend James Culbreth officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home & Crematory of Dothan directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m., prior to service at the church.

Franklin was born August 22, 1932, in Columbia to the late Edward McCoy & Ollie Mae (Webb) Culbreth. He spent the early years of his life in Columbia, and was a graduate of Houston County High School, where he was a star athlete. Following graduation, he enlisted and proudly served in the United States Air Force. While serving at Langley Air Force base in Newport News, VA, he met the love of his life, Jenny Scoggin. In 1955, Frank and Jenny settled in Atlanta Georgia where he began his insurance career with Independent Life. He continued his career in Insurance, returning home to start the Culbreth Insurance Agency in Dothan, Alabama. Frank was a dedicated member of the Dothan Kiwanis Club and the Gideons. In 1980, he made the decision to join Calvary Baptist Church, where he faithfully sang in the choir and actively participated in various committees.
Frank will be best known for his faith, his love of family, and ….Alabama Football!
He is predeceased by his parents; The Rev. Edward M Culbreth and his wife Ollie Mae Webb Culbreth, six brothers, Edward M Culbreth, Jr, Bunyon W. Culbreth, John French Culbreth, Rudolph Culbreth, James Olaff Culbreth, Tom Culbreth, and his two sisters, Francis Culbreth Odom and Betty Louise Culbreth.
He is survived by his brother Gerald Culbreth (Linda) of Tallahassee, FL, sister in laws, Ginny Culbreth, of Tallahassee Fla, and Gloria Culbreth of Montgomery, Al, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his wife of 70 years, Jenny Culbreth of Dothan; his son, Dean Culbreth (Charla) of Dothan; his three daughters, Lynn Daniels (Danny) of Marietta, GA, Debbie Mullis of Dothan, and Kathy Winfield (Andy) of San Diego, CA, his 11 grandchildren and 19 great-children.
Serving as pallbearers are his grandsons: Jeff Culbreth, Cliff Daniels, Logan Mullis, Alex Culbreth, Tanner Culbreth, and Landon Mullis.
