WEBB, ALABAMA. . .Gean Earl Hendrix, a resident of Webb, Alabama, died early Thursday afternoon, March 27, 2025, at his home. He was 82.
Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 2, 2025, in the Webb Cemetery with Pastor Joe Wyatt and Reverend Jean Watson officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Webb Methodist Church, P.O. Box 143, Webb, AL 36376.
Mr. Hendrix was born and reared in Goodway, Alabama, son of the late Eddie Hendrix and Katie Johnson Hendrix. At an early age, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Hendrix retired with rank of Command Sergeant Major after thirty years in the military. He received B.S. and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration from Troy University. After retirement from the Army, he was employed by Bainbridge College (Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College) as a Business and Industry Co-Ordinator in Continuing Education. Mr. Hendrix formerly lived in Ozark, Alabama and Bainbridge, Georgia before moving to Webb in 2022. While a resident of Bainbridge, he was an active member of the Bainbridge Lions Club. Mr. Hendrix was a member of Webb Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by all his sisters and brothers.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Brenda Ivey Hendrix; four sons, James Hendrix (Jenny), Fremont, CA; and Harold Hendrix of California; Hans Walden (Denise), Coffee Springs, AL; and Arthur B. Walden, New York, New York; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.
