Geneva County roads are still showing ice and snow and are still considered dangerous, according to Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms.
He said crews were out assessing roads and salting bridges again.
“Highway 52 is a mess between Slocomb and Dothan,” he said. “Hartford also had a bad mess.”
He said multiple vehicles had slid off roads, and “several, several” vehicles are off the road between Slocomb and Dothan.
“Yesterday I was out there, and there were vehicles everywhere,” he said.
He said several vehicles had also broken down.
“You cannot drive the speed limit on roads today,” he said.
County roads and dirt roads are still especially considered unsafe.
“I know Dothan is opening roads at 10. More power to them,” he said.
He estimated conditions would improve by noon.
“Most people are thankfully staying in,” he said. “So far, no major injuries. Just major road blockage.”
