GEORGE CARL MAINZER, JR.
DALEVILLE… George Carl Mainzer, Jr., a resident of Daleville, Alabama, passed away early Monday morning, July 13, 2026, at his home. He was 75.
Funeral services will be held at Westlawn Cemetery in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the local arrangements.
Mr. Mainzer was born in Newport, Rhode Island to the late George Carl Mainzer, Sr. and Laura Elena Del Valle Mainzer. He was a 1969 graduate of James Barry Robinson High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He had previously lived in Chesapeake, Virginia before moving to Level Plains, Alabama about sixteen and a half years ago. He retired from Primus Solution at Ft. Fucker. He had previously worked and retired from Virginia Natural Gas in Norfolk, Virginia. He loved fishing and was a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a long-time softball coach, and a collector of Confederate Civil War memorabilia.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Camille Edwards. Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Evie L. Clark-Mainzer; his daughter, Tammy Mainzer Moore (Scott Miller); his son, Jacob Clark (Caitlin); his sister Laura Burrell (Bobby); and many grandchildren, nieces, and a nephew.
