George Daniel “Buddy” Quattlebaum of Geneva, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. He was 79 years old.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva. The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Quattlebaum was born in Geneva County, Alabama, on November 16, 1946, to the late George and Bonnie Reese Gray Quattlebaum. He enjoyed tinkering, watching YouTube videos to learn how to build things, making wind chimes, creating yard ornaments and windmills out of aluminum cans, and going to yard sales.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.

He is survived by two daughters, Stacy Smithart (Billy) of Geneva, Alabama, and Sherri Miller (Tim) of Westville, Florida; one son, Shannon Quattlebaum (Cindy Cadmus) of Hartford, Alabama; five grandchildren, Dustin Adams (Meagan), Shelby Smithart (Alyssa), Luke Smithart (Kaitlyn), Addison Quattlebaum, and Logan Quattlebaum; four great-grandchildren, Madelyn Adams, Judson Adams, Bryson Crosby, and Walker Smithart; one sister, Elaine Quattlebaum Bryant; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Bonifay Nursing Home, Emerald Coast Hospice, and Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate love and care they provided to Mr. Quattlebaum.
