
Gerald Whitehead of Geneva, AL passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. He was 82 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Ronnie Baine officiating. Burial will follow in the Geneva City Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m.. Flowers will be accepted.
Gerald was born on July 23, 1943 in Geneva, AL to the late Lee Ander and Callie Esther Ramer Whitehead. He retired from Ft. Rucker after 42 years of dedicated service to the Aircraft division. He was a Technical Aviation Inspector who enjoyed working on helicopters and being able to tell people anything about the aircraft. He didn’t mind talking to folks and sharing his knowledge. While still working at Ft. Rucker, he owned and operated his own cabinet shop where he made beautiful pieces that still grace homes today. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and working in his yards. He proudly served in the Alabama National Guard for as number of years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Lee “Junior” Whitehead and James Whitehead, and one sister, Mary Nell Whitehead.
Gerald is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Diane Whitehead of Geneva, AL; one son, Chris Whitehead (Tasha) and one daughter, Leisa Sconiers (Dale), all of Westville, FL; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; twin brother, Earl Whitehead of Geneva, AL; two special nieces and a host of extended family and friends.
