Gloria Anne (Adams) Helms, a resident of Clayton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at her home. She was 88 years old.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Clayton Methodist Church in Clayton, Alabama, with Dr. Larry Teasley and Bro. Jimmy Smith officiating. The burial will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in the Texasville Community with Glover Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to American Cancer Society- PO Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741 or to Southern Care Hospice- 2576 Montgomery Hwy #2 Dothan, AL 36303.
Gloria was born on September 1, 1937, in Barbour County, Alabama, to the late Marvin and Esther (Baxley) Adams. She was a 1955 graduate of Louisville High School and worked for many years as a Program Specialist for the Department of Agriculture. Gloria enjoyed reading, walking, traveling, the beach, and singing in the church choir. She loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Cody Helms, Jr.; brother, Tyrone Adams.
Left to cherish her memories are her four children, David Helms (Sherry), Cody Helms (Sharon), John Helms (Barbara), and Sandra Taylor (Keith); seven grandchildren, Adam Helms (Lacey), Clay Helms (Bonnie), Mark Helms (Bryan Holten), Daniel Helms (Randa), Chip Taylor (Alyson), Luke Taylor (Ryan), and Price Hyers (Josh); twelve great-grandchildren, Axel Helms, Gracie Helms, Stella Helms, Heidi Helms, Louise Taylor, Maddie Hyers, Jackson Hyers, Dani Helms, Charleigh Taylor, Bishop Helms, Summer Hyers, and Mac Taylor; three sisters, Delores Creel, Olivia Robertson, and Becky Taylor.
Asked to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons, Adam Helms, Clay Helms, Mark Helms, Daniel Helms, Chip Taylor, and Luke Taylor.
