GLORIA S. CLINE
DOTHAN… Gloria S. Cline, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away late Tuesday night, November 18, 2025, at her home. She was 90.
A private family service will be held at later date, in West Point Post Cemetery, in West Point, New York.
Mrs. Cline was born at Glendale Hospital, in Glendale, California, to the late Melvin May Standley and Mary Elizabeth Bowman Standley. After high school, she earned a business degree. As a late teenager in Bell, California; Gloria Standley Cline, along with her identical twin sister, Patricia S. Mitbo, attended a multi-church youth group dance, where she met and fell in love with a young man (Donald H. Cline), home for the summer from West Point, the Army Military Academy, at West Point, New York. Just prior to his senior year, they became engaged. Gloria’s parents would only allow her to move six thousand miles away, if her twin sister, Patricia, went as well. This was her first adventure in a new place that would define her life as a career military wife. Gloria’s favorite places to be stationed were Osberg, Germany, which allowed them to visit many other European countries by train, Fort Benning, Georgia, and Hawaii. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dothan.
Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Cline; her daughter, Mary K. Buck; and her sister, Judith M. Thomas.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Jennifer A. Campbell (John) and Karen L. Jackson (Jeffry); her son Jeffery S. Cline (Lori); her twin sister, Patricia Mitbo; her six grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren.
