Gregory Craig Lynn, affectionally known as Greg, born on November 26, 1957, in Dothan, Alabama, passed away on October 9, 2026, in Newton, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and a life devoted to caring for others.
Greg was a devoted husband to Brenda Lynn and a loving father to Michael Lynn, Daniel Lynn, Greg Lynn, Robbie Lynn, Victoria Jones, Sarah Bolin, Amanda Peacock, Destiny Hawley, LoriAnn Blurton, Kristi Lynn Blurton, and Mandi Waters. He was also blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him great joy throughout his life. His family was the center of his world, and he took pride in being present, dependable, and loving in every way that mattered. He is also survived by his brothers, Karl Lynn and his wife Donna, and Selwyn Lynn and his wife Barbara, as well as his sisters, Chandra Brown and Selene Lynn. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will remember his gentle nature and the steady example he set.
Greg was known by all who met him as a good man with a generous heart. He cared deeply about other people and was always willing to help anyone in need. Quiet by nature, he did not seek attention for the good he did, but his kindness was felt by many. He had a giving spirit and was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone else. He got along with most everyone and was respected for the calm, humble way he carried himself through life.
For more than 20 years, Greg dedicated himself to his work with Extendicare, where he became a familiar and valued presence. He was appreciated for his strong work ethic, dependability, and the kindness and loyalty he brought to his work each day. After retiring from Extendicare, Greg continued his career in maintenance, working alongside David Dennis and Jim Dennis at their assisted living communities, including Somerset, Whitehall, and Providence. Throughout his years of service, he built lasting relationships with coworkers who became like family. The love and respect they held for Greg were evident in the second retirement party hosted in his honor this past August, a heartfelt celebration of his continued dedication and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
Outside of work, Greg found happiness in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He loved fishing on his boat with his children, creating memories that his family will treasure forever. He also loved grilling for his family and was truly a grill master. Whether tending the grill or serving up his favorite dishes, he brought people together through his love of good food, making every gathering around the grill a little more special. Greg also shared a special bond with his beloved K-9 friend Willow, who was a cherished companion and a source of comfort and joy in his life.
Gregory Craig Lynn will be remembered for his quiet presence, his generous heart, and the way he made others feel valued and cared for. His life was a reflection of love, humility, and service to others. Though he will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, coworkers, and all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
