Gregory Scott McDonald, passed away on November 14, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida. Greg was born on May 24, 1969, in Geneva, Alabama, to William Elton and Mary Sheralyn Grice McDonald, both of whom preceded him in death along with his brother, William Elton “Bill” McDonald, Jr.

A devoted family man, Greg is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Harris McDonald of Geneva, Alabama. His legacy continues through his children, William Bradly McDonald of Geneva, AL, and Megan Nicole Forehand (Matthew) of Bonifay, FL. He was a cherished grandfather to four grandchildren: Naomi, Isaac, Asher, and Alexandria, who will all miss his warm presence. He also leaves behind a sister, Sandy Pope (Jeffery) of Westville, Florida, who will remember her brother with great fondness.

Greg’s professional life was marked by his dedication as a corrections officer with the Holmes Correctional Institution. He served with a sense of duty that was respected by both his colleagues and the wider community.

Outside of his work, Greg was an avid cook who found joy in preparing meals for his family. His kitchen was a place of laughter, storytelling, and shared memories. Greg’s faith was central to his life; he regularly engaged in conversations about his beliefs and could effortlessly quote scripture, providing comfort and insight to those around him.

Those who knew Greg admired him for his deep faith, his unwavering love for his family, and his ability to bring light into rooms with his presence. As a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Greg’s departure leaves a void that will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
