James Culey Ward

James Culey Ward, 41, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, in Birmingham, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Glover Funeral Home with Reverend William Irvin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. of Olives Cemetery in Cottonwood with Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m., prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted.

James was born on May 1, 1985, in Dothan to Culey C. Ward & Carol Ann (Roland) Ward. He attended Geneva County High School. After school he worked in the Construction Industry, McClane’s Distribution Center, and most recently at Michelin as a forklift operator. He enjoyed reading his bible.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob Roland (Sue), Caroline Russ, and Jack Ward; his brother, Brian Ward; and his nephews, Clayton Roland, and Daniel Cannon.

He is survived by his son, Aiden James Ward; his mother, Carol Ward; his father, Culey Ward (Charlotte); his sisters, Morgan Skinner, Kirstie Ward, Christy Ward, and Melissa Cannon; his brothers, David Gregory and Junior Simmons; his stepdaughters, Felicia McCarter and Emily Holton; his grandmother, Annie Holland; his step-grandchild, Killian McCarter; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Gregory, Junior Simmons, Jamie Roland, Greg Roland, John Deese, Kymani Kilgore, and Chris Nelson.
