It is with heavy hearts and much love that we announce the loss of our mother. Agnes Janelle Coker Dollar Nelson (Dixie Darling), 93, of Dothan, AL, formerly of Bainbridge, GA passed away September 9, 2026, at Westside Terrace.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Eastern on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Bryant Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Whitt, Bro. Kevin Dowdy, and Rev. Johnny Burdick officiating. Interment will follow at Butler Cemetery with Robbie Lynn Webb, Brandon Dollar, Terry Webb, Holden Lanton, Lance Tucker, Jared Ingle, Gabe Spence, Dalton Spence, Marshal Spence, Alex Wimberly, and Cole Gilbourn serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Eastern on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Bryant Funeral Home in Bainbridge, GA. Mrs. Nelson was born August 26, 1933, in Whigham, GA, the daughter of Jeff Compton Coker and Earnestine Johnson Coker. She was a graduate of Whigham High School, Class of 1950 and worked as a cashier and bookkeeper with Winn Dixie, Inc. in Bainbridge, GA for 43 years. She also worked part-time for the Board of Elections of Decatur County for forty years. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Whigham, GA.
Her hobbies were fishing, quilting, embroidery, puzzles, listening to Southern Gospel and Country music, coloring, playing BINGO and spending time with family and friends. She loved watching the Braves play ball! She never tired of saying and hearing those precious three words, “I LOVE YOU!”
Survivors include her sons, Larry Dollar and wife, Mary, of Dothan, AL and Earl Dollar and wife, Janet, of Webb, AL; her daughters, Sherry Dollar Cross of Bainbridge, GA, Denise Webb and husband, Mike, of Bainbridge, GA, and Susan Dollar Lanton and husband, Steve, of Ashford, AL; her ten grandchildren, Jennifer Tucker and husband, Lance, Renee Guthrie of South Carolina, Andre Wooten of Jacksonville, FL, Brandon Dollar, and wife, Brittany, Dana Krock and husband, Paul, DesaRae Ingle, and husband, Jared, Holden Lanton and wife, Emily, Heather Wimberly and husband, Shannon, Robbie Lynn Webb and wife, Alicia, and Terry Webb; her many great and great-great grandchildren; her good friends, Nickee Wilkinson and family; and her god-daughters, Sheila Butler, Erica Ingle, Pam Ivey, and Cindy Cook Keifer.
Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, S. E. (Buster) Dollar, father of her children and Ray Nelson; her son, Terry Dollar; her granddaughter, Lachelle Spence; her brothers, Charlie Everette Coker, Vinson Coker, Herman Carroll Coker, and Billy Coker; her sister, Myrtle Ann Lewis, and a good companion, Carlton Cook, Sr.
The family would like to thank her wonderful, loving caretaker, Myrl Harden, and her son, Terry, who was such a blessing to her and the family! They would also like to thank the staff at Westside Terrace for the love and care extended to her.
