Jean Peets Willis, age 70, a resident of Cottonwood, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 26, 2025 at her home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Cottonwood Community Church in Cottonwood, Alabama.
Jean was born on May 31, 1955 in Germany to Mr. Arthur Claude and Dolly Young Howard. After graduating high school, she attended Wallace Community College where she received her associate’s degree in cosmetology. In her early years, she was a member of a gospel group. Her hobbies included making ceramics, cooking, arts and crafts, and taking care of her K9s. She was a foster mother to many children. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Cottonwood Community Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Henry Howard and Charles Howard.
Left to cherish her memories are significant other, Henry Willis; son, Billy Rhoten (Amber); daughter, Lillie Medlock (Terry); brother, Mark Howard; two sister, Sue Jackson (Tommy) and Ann Averett (Mike); two grandchildren, Amber Medlock and Ethan Medlock; along with her seven K9s and many friends.
