JEANETTE JOYCE LEGGET

ABBEVILLE…Jeanette Joyce Leggett, 63, of Abbeville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on August 26, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio, Jeanette later made Alabama her home, where she built a life centered around family, love, laughter, and making memories with those she cherished most.

Jeanette was the devoted wife of Mark Leggett, with whom she shared countless adventures, especially riding together on their motorcycle and enjoying life side by side. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—soaking up the sunshine, spending time at the beach, watching Lifetime movies, and, if you knew her well, enjoying a little Fireball while sharing laughs with family and friends. She never met a celebration she didn’t enjoy and was always ready for a party, a family gathering, or simply spending time with the people she loved.

More than anything, Jeanette loved taking care of her family. She expressed her love through home-cooked meals, making sure everyone was fed, comfortable, and happy, and creating a home where family and friends always felt welcome. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Renita Telencio and her twin sister, Lynette Armstrong.

Jeanette is survived by her loving husband, Mark Leggett; her children, Jacquie Redding (Blake), Michelle Cordova (Joshua), Georgie Lambert (Jennifer), David Telencio, and Gage Leggett (Taylor); her cherished grandchildren, Makayla, Ashlyn, Sophia, Olivia, Brennan, Jack, Addison, Aiden, Oakland, and Lane, who were the light of her life; her father, Mike Telencio; her sisters, Cheryl Corlett (Bill) and Renee Hale (Steve); her brother, Michael “Mickey” Telencio (Karen); and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Jeanette will be remembered for her generous heart, her fun-loving spirit, and the way she made everyone feel like family. She loved deeply, laughed often, and lived life on her own terms.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Gentiva Hospice for the care of love shown to Mrs. Leggett during her illness.
