
Jennie Lee Whiddon, a cherished matriarch, peacefully passed away on February 7, 2026, at Wesley Place. Born on January 4, 1933, Jennie’s warm spirit and grace were a blessing to all who knew her throughout her 93 years of life.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ed Stuart officiating. Flowers will be accepted.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Othur (Bo) Wilburn Whiddon, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories until his passing. Her legacy continues through her loving children, Debra Whiddon Hurst and Othur (Bo) Wilburn Whiddon Jr. Grandchildren, Jamie Lane, Justin Whiddon, and Josh Lane. Great-grandchildren, Haisten Whiddon, Kenadie Whiddon, Kryslin Lane-Martin, and Alex Lane.
Jennie’s life was a testament to her unwavering commitment and hard work, as she diligently served her family as a homemaker. She created a home filled with love, warmth, and the enchanting scents of her flourishing flower garden. Gardening was not just a hobby but a passion for Jennie, as she nurtured each flower with love, just as she nurtured her relationships.
Jennie was a member of Enon Church of Christ and a participant in her faith community, embodying the very essence of compassion and fellowship. Her church family held a special place in Jennie’s heart. Her kind nature extended well beyond the walls of her church, touching the hearts of everyone she encountered.
Jennie Lee Whiddon lived a life of gentle strength, unconditional love, and inspiring kindness. Her unwavering dedication to her family and her community made her a beloved figure as we bid farewell to Jennie, we do so with gratitude for the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her legacy of kindness will live on, reminding us all to cultivate beauty and tenderness in our own lives. Jennie’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her spirit will continue to bloom in the lives of those she loved.
