JESSICA JANETTE MAY ALVAYERO

HEADLAND… Jessica Janette May Alvayero, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at a Dothan hospital. She was 49.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 20, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Eddie Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Ms. Alvayero was born in Dothan, Alabama to Annie Elizabeth Reynolds May and the late Benjamin Franklin May. She was a 1995 graduate of Headland High School. She earned her MSN degree in nursing and was currently pursuing her MPAS degree. She served her country in the U.S. Army. She lived in various places in the United States and abroad while in the military. She worked for several years at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Above all else, she loved her children deeply and wholeheartedly. She had a passion for travel, a love for dancing, and a gift for bringing people together. Nursing was more than a career to her – it was a calling, and she served with compassion and pride. Whether surrounded by family or friends, her energy filled the room. She was joyful, carefree, and the life of every gathering, leaving behind memories that will be cherished forever.

Along with her father, she was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, George Sampson and a niece, Akira Hollis.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Delilah Alvayero (Joseph Thomas) and KaDacia Dunlap; her son Lorenzo Farfan; her sisters, Shannon Sampson, Kimberly Corbitt, and Erica May; her brother, Brian May (Sharla); her grandson, Khayir Thomas; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend, Ronnie White.
