Mrs. Jimmie Ruth DeShazo Ditty, age 94, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday May 1, 2025, at her residence.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2025, at the Evergreen Presbyterian Church with Reverend Chris Herrin officiating. A family graveside will be held at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Bascom, Florida on Tuesday with Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Presbyterian Church Food Bank, 1103 North Pontiac Avenue, Dothan, Al. 36303.
Mrs. Ditty was born on January 28, 1931, in Jackson County, Florida, the daughter of Waldie Monroe DeShazo and Lucy Mae Gilbert DeShazo. She lived in Headland, Jackson County and was a resident of Dothan for the past 32 years. Mrs. Ditty was a past member of several garden clubs and served with Dothan Botanical Gardens. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Malone High School and a member of Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Dothan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morris Wade Ditty; two sisters, Maureen Nowell, Martha Mitchell; one brother, Donald Eugene DeShazo and a special niece, Emma Kate Jernigan.
Survivors include: two daughters, Vicky Patridge (Larry), Mobile; Stacy Earhart (Jeff), Savannah, Ga.; a son, Wade Ditty, Ames, Iowa; special niece, Sonja Jernigan (Earl), Dothan; seven grandchildren, Blair Neidhardt (Steven), Whitney Bennett (Brett), Blane Patridge, Christina Ditty, Risa Ditty, Austin Ditty and Kim Ditty; four great-grandchildren, Kelty Greiner, Malachi Greiner, Eleanor Neidhardt and Layla Bennett.
