Ted was born on August 20, 1955, in Hartford, Alabama, to Barbara and the late Larry Toole. A graduate of Slocomb High School, he was a lifelong resident of Fadette, Alabama. Ted and his beloved wife, Julie, celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on October 17, 2026. He spent his life farming and was a business owner for nearly 40 years.
Ted will be remembered as a friend to many, a devoted husband and father, and an exceptionally proud grandfather. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and was always ready to share a friendly smile and warm conversation. Many will fondly remember visiting him at Conestoga Steak House, where his familiar face and friendly nature made him a cherished presence.
Ted was happiest when he was outdoors, checking on his cows, baling hay, or working on a tractor. He took great pride in his work and the farming life he had known for so many years. Above all, he treasured his family, especially the time spent watching his grandson, Riggs, play ball. He also enjoyed cheering on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. Ted was an active member of the Geneva and Houston County Cattlemen’s Association and valued the friendships and fellowship he shared with others throughout his life. His kindness, easygoing nature, and genuine friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ted was preceded in death by his father, Larry Toole.
Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Julie Hardy Toole; his daughter, Anna Marie Moore (Ralston); his cherished grandchildren, Riggs, age 10, and Eva Claire, age 7; his mother, Barbara Toole; his sisters, Jane McSwain and Ann Chancellor (Wayne); special friends, Jerry and Cindy Holloway, Todd Enfinger, and Toby Edmondson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Ted leaves behind a lifetime of memories, lasting friendships, and a legacy of love for his family and the life he built. He will be remembered with great affection and missed more than words can express.
