Joyce Lee (Travers) Hawkins, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026, at her residence. She was 76 years old.
Joyce was born on March 5, 1950, in El Monte, California, to the late Robert Jerome and Naomi Lee (BonDurant) Travers. She loved being a homemaker to her loving family, decorating, gardening, visiting the beach, swimming, dancing, cooking enchiladas and tostadas; and fishing on the Pensacola peir.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John V. Hawkins, III.; grandson, Jakob Andrews; four sisters, Toni Kenton, Kathy Travers, Robin DiBernard, and Troy Travers.
Left to cherish her memories are three daughters, Yvonne Roberson (Brock) of Abbeville, Alabama, Danette Marie Leonard of Pensacola, Florida, and Denise Rae Andrews of Pensacola, Florida; two sons, Brian Hawkins (Shannan) of Silver Hill, Alabama and David Tommy Huhn of Lillian, Alabama; brother, Robert “Bobby” Travers (Judy) of Newberg, Oregon; sister, Cindy Sallaberria (Mike) of Rancho Cucamonga, California; nine grandchildren, August Huhn, Forrest Huhn, Madeleine Huhn, Sam Andrews, Madison Baldridge, Bailey Huhn, Noah Huhn, Gauge Baldridge, and River Baldridge; 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes there will be no public services scheduled.
