Linda Faye (Fortune) Creel, a resident of Eufaula, Alabama, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at her residence. She was 79 years old.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kathy Stumbaugh officiating and Glover Funeral Home & Crematory of Eufaula directing. A visitation will be held from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Southern Care Hospice- 2576 Montgomery Hwy #2 Dothan, Alabama 36303.
Linda was born on August 16, 1947, in Eufaula, Alabama, to the late Lincoln and Eloise (Rowe) Fortune. She obtained a PhD in Special Education and worked in the Eufaula City School system at Sandford Street Elementary School, where she taught Kindergarten through 6th grade. She also taught college courses at Wallace College (Sparks Campus) and for Troy University in Troy and Phenix City. Linda dearly loved her husband, Don and their dog Shim. She also loved to go shopping and the saying “Shop till you Drop” defined her so well.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband, Don Creel; sister, Carrol Moore; niece, Stacey Sellers.
