EDWIN  COMMUNITY. . .Lloyd Turner, Jr., a resident of the Edwin Community in Henry County, died Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2025, at his home. He was 83.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Turner was born in Abbeville and was raised in Blue Springs, son of the late Lloyd Turner, Sr .and Jessie Lois Money Turner. He lived in the Edwin Community most of his adult lifetime. Mr. Turner served his country in the Army Reserve in the Dothan unit. He was a member of New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Turner worked as an Industrial Electrician for many years all over the United States. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Juanita Bishop and Janet Mayfield, sisters, Fran Haley and Maudie Starling, and brothers, Frankie Turner, David Turner and W. R. “Buck” Turner.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Shirley Jordan Turner, sisters, Marie Strevey,  Mary Gachet and Dorothy Marcum (James); a brother, Jessie Turner; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Mr. Turner during his illness.
