Marjorie Parmer Hunt
Marjorie Parmer Hunt, born on August 22, 1928, passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on September 7, 2025. She was a faithful follower of Christ and servant to those around her. She now rests peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
Marjorie’s dedication to her family, church and community spoke volumes of her character. Margorie was born in Dothan, Alabama. She resided in Dothan for the first five years of life before moving to Barbour County where she attended Blue Springs schoolhouse and graduated in 1946.
She then attended business school in Birmingham. Following business school, she moved back to Dothan and began working for Dr. Coleman as office manager. She continued working at Hedstrom for fourteen years and then completed her career with the Houston County commission as Chief Clerk retiring in 1989.
While her career was important, she held her marriage to Leon Hunt dearest to her heart. Marjorie and Leon attended local churches until settling at Selma Baptist Church. There they spent time thriving in Sunday School and Senior Citizens groups.
Marjorie was proceeded in death by her parents Roy and Anna Belle Parmer. Her husband of sixty-six years Leon Hunt, and two brothers, Maxwell Parmer and Donald Parmer.
Remaining living relatives include her daughter Judy Clardy, of Webb; two Grandsons, Chris Clardy (Angel) of Columbia, and Todd Clardy of Los Angeles, CA; two great-grandchildren, Clint Clardy (Sara) of Dothan and Abby Ramirez (Angel) of Columbia; and a great-great grandson, Woods Clardy. Marjorie was loved by many including a host of sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratefulness to Mrs. Gloria Kelley for her three years of dedication caring for Marjorie’s needs.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. in the funeral home chapel prior to services.
Flowers accepted or donations may be made in memory to Selma Baptist Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Barry Richards, Clint Clardy, Danny Johnson, Kenny Parmer, Larry Ivey, Greg Parmer, and Andy Todd.
