
Marjorie Carter Williams of Geneva, AL passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She was 94 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL with her granddaughter, Amber Hatcher delivering the Eulogy and Rev. Kevin Krist officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Ms. Marjorie requested that donations be made to the Westside Methodist Church Open Door Sunday School Class.
Marjorie was born in Geneva County, Alabama, on November 15, 1931, to the late John Angus and Mattie Ruth Padgett Carter. She worked for many years as a CNA, providing compassionate care to the elderly both in their homes and in hospitals. Marjorie also had a deep love for children and owned and operated a daycare for many years. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Driscal and Kathryn Mary Stokes; one sister, Margaret Elizabeth Stinson.
She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Mata of Geneva, AL and Naomi Ruth McArdle (Danny) of Dothan, AL; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Sarah Katherine Spears (Dewey) of Geneva, AL.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Wanda Huggins, as well as the staff of SouthernCare Hospice and Wiregrass Nursing Home, for the compassionate and exceptional care they provided.
