Miss Marlie Claire Medley of Geneva, Alabama passed to her heavenly home unexpectedly Sunday, November 1, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Marlie left us, physically, much too soon but also left us with many heartfelt memories that will have to keep us until we reunite with her in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Maple Avenue Baptist Church in Geneva with Michael Herrera officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00pm to 2:00 pm in the main sanctuary.

Marlie was born in Dothan, Alabama, on September 5, 2007, to Kacie and Jody Medley and was welcomed home by her big brother Braden. She started her formal education at Kids Academy followed by kindergarten through grade 12 in Geneva City Schools. She loved all of her teachers, administrators, office ladies, and friends. If you knew Marlie very well you knew that there were many things she’d rather be doing than sitting in a classroom. She was excited though about attending LBW in Opp, Alabama to become a licensed esthetician. The women of her family were also excited for her to practice on them.

Marlie invited Jesus into her heart at an early age and was baptized by Michael Herrera. She enjoyed church camps and winter retreats with the students of MABC.

Marlie was a beautiful and talented young lady. During her elementary years, she was a valued member of Mulkey Melodies. She shared her beautiful voice with anyone who was willing to listen, including special requests from her grandmother in church.  Marlie also had a unique personality and marched to the beat of her own drum. Her free spirit and her infectious smile drew so many to her and made them love her.

Marlie is survived by her parents Kacie and Jody Medley of Geneva, brother Braden (Alexis) and niece Natalie Ann Medley, all of Red Lodge Bury St. Edmunds, UK, grandparents Laurie and Randall Meeks, Treddy and Sherry Kilpatrick, all of Geneva, Nancy Medley of Daleville. Aunt Karie Pike (Bryan) of Geneva, Uncle Allen Medley (Brandy) of Daleville, cousins Merrick and Scout Pike of Geneva, Connor Pike and Ragen (Will) Cannon of Wetumpka, Jordan and Mason Medley of Slocomb, Ashley Carroll (Marcus) and Morgan of Slocomb, Kayla Hart (Will) and Abel of Wicksburg, Austin Harris (Andrea) and Brody, Bailey and Beau of Enterprise, Alissa Harris of Daleville and a host of other family members and friends. Also her very best friend Kylie McCallister.

All who love Marlie are heartbroken and already miss her terribly. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, 255 Jerry Drive, Dothan, Alabama 36303 or to MABC youth fund in Geneva in Marlie’s memory.
