Mary Catherine Miller Sanders, a resident of Louisville, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Henry County Health and Rehab surrounded by her loving children and Mrs. Gail Miller. She was 90 years old.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel in Clayton, Alabama, with Rev. Don Highland officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery in Louisville, Alabama. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:15 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or contributions can be made to the Louisville Baptist Church children’s department.
Catherine was born on April 9, 1935, in Bakerhill, Alabama to the late James Cliff and Minnie Mae Smith Miller. She was a lifelong resident of Barbour County and was a graduate of Bakerhill High School. Catherine worked for 14 years with Cooperative Propane and for 20 years with Louisville Pecan Company. In her early years she was a member of the Louisville Bridge Club and enjoyed the time spent with many of her friends. She enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. Catherine was a faithful member of Louisville Baptist Church where she served in the children’s department.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Fred J. Sanders; four brothers, James “Tink” Miller, Howard Miller, Ray Miller, and EC Miller; one sister, Lillie Belle Faircloth; nephew, James Buford Faircloth.
Survivors include her two children, Tony Sanders and Sheila S. Fenn both of Louisville, Alabama; four grandchildren, Jim Fenn (Kara), Will Fenn ( Sara), Brandi Kent (Eric), Craig Sanders (Erin); eight great-grandchildren, Daniel Beaty, Mary Catherine Beaty, JD Bates, Nic Bigford, Emmie Fenn, Carley Fenn, Beckett Sanders, and Ridge Sanders; one great-great grandchild, River Tillis; three sisters-in-law, Sara Miller, Sara Ammons, and Ruby Methvin; six nephews, Edward Miller (Gail), Mickey Miller (Janel), Joel Miller (Willie Mae), Mark Miller, Steve Miller (Teresa), Dee Faircloth and a host of nieces and nephews from the Sanders family; three special friends, Patsy Bush, Jane Fenn, and Junior Shirah.
Active pallbearers will be Mark Miller, Eddie Davis, Craig Sanders, Will Fenn, Lee Fenn, and Fred Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Hamm, George Dewey Currie, Edward Miller, Mickey Miller, Steve Miller, and Joel Miller.
The family would like to give special thanks to Henry County Health and Rehab and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care they gave.
