Mary Elizabeth Wheeler of Geneva, AL passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025. She was 79 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 02, 2025, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jadon Schank and Rev. Dennis Schank officiating. Burial will follow in the Geneva City Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
Elizabeth was born on November 01, 1945, to the late Daniel DeWitt and Lottie Elizabeth Posey Chalker. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who was at her happiest when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She cherished spending every available moment with her family. She retired from Clinton Mills in Geneva where she worked in the spinning room for several years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church for years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wheeler; two daughters, Sandra Free and Rhonda Galloway; one brother, Jerry Chalker and one sister, Sue Brown.
Elizabeth is survived by three children, Teresa White (Steve), Wanda Harrell (Mike), all of Geneva, AL and Kevin Wheeler (Ashley) of Hartford, AL; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; several extended family members and friends.
