Mary Ella Holland Thompson, a resident of Eufaula, Alabama passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 87 years old.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 11:00 am at Parkview Baptist Church in Eufaula with Rev. Glenn Brock officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. The burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Parkview Christian School- 608 S. Eufaula Ave. Eufaula, Alabama 36027.
Mary was born May 20, 1937, in Rehobeth, Alabama to the late Albert and Esther Jewel Booth Holland. She was a master seamstress and loved sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed golfing, singing in the church choir and vacationing with her family. Mary was a devoted member of Parkview Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jackie Howard Thompson; sister, Matha Blankenship; two brothers, Leon Holland and Daniel Holland.
Left to cherish her memories are daughter, Mary Susan Thomley (James) of Perry, Florida; two grandchildren, Kristy Dawn Gissendaner (James “Robbie”) and Timothy Aaron Green; two great-grandchildren, Zachery Smith and Tylor Smith (Hannah); two great-great grandchildren; Colton Smith and Zayne Smith; special sister-in-law, Anita Holland.
Asked to serve as pallbearers are Freddy Holland, Lamar Holland, Tylor Smith, Zachery Smith, Joshua Mathis, Kevin Little, John Dowling, and Steve Sandifer.
