Mary Frances Glover


Mary Frances Glover, age 81, a resident of Midland City, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 18th, 2026, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith White officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinckard Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45PM until 1:45PM on Wednesday, prior to the service.

Frances was born on Monday, February 19th, 1945, in Hartford, Alabama to Lester and Johnnie Gibson. She attended school in Hartford, Alabama and Umatilla, Florida. She married the love of her life, Roger Glover, on October 17th, 1960. They were married 48 years. Frances worked various jobs over her years: Bud Cigar, for many years as receptionist/manager at Kutt Above Hair Salon and cleaned the homes of a few special families. She enjoyed volunteering at the historical museum in Hartford.  Frances loved to craft and make things, from sewing, macrame, painting and more. Nana, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, made holidays special with her candies and cakes. She welcomed all and loved deeply. Frances was very proud and dedicated to her large family and very much enjoyed spending time with them.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy!  She is also the very reason her immediate family are “Dye Hard Auburn Fans”. WAR EAGLE!  

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Johnnie Gibson; husband, Roger Max Glover; father and mother in law, Stafford and Claudie Glover; step mother in law, Helen Glover; brother, Donnie Gibson; sisters, Pauline Wilson, Jean Bariteau, and Linda Shook; brothers and sisters in law, Howard Creech, Wayne Bariteau, Wesley “Doc” McKnight, Janice McKnight, Gwen Glover, Grace Glover, Doris Maddox, Randall Glover, Glenda Wheeless; bonus brother in law, Bill Sundy; nephews, Kevin Gibson and Tim Creech. 

Frances is survived by her two daughters, Tammy (Ricky) Jackson and Renee (John) Barron; their “brother” Aubie, her maltipoo companion of 18 years; grandchildren, Josh (Sarah), Shane (Samantha) Jackson, Adam, Kaleb, Trevor (Hannah Kennedy) Barron; bonus grandchild, Ashley (Joe) Kimbril; great grandchildren, Eli, Zeke, Marshall, Gibson Jackson; sister, Jewell Creech; brothers, Wayne (Diane), Gerald and Dale (Cheri) Gibson; brothers and sisters in law, Bill Shook, Marvin Wheeless, Bob Roth, Reg (Debbie) Glover, Sybil Glover, Claudia (Wesley) Strickland; bonus sister, Joyce Sundy; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Creech, Luke Gibson, Justin Gibson, Donnie Vanhoose, Jonathan Wheeless, Jason Strickland, Slade Glover, Jarrad Glover. Honorary pallbearers are, Andy Bariteau, Jonathan Shook, Jeremi Rutherford, Jeremy Gibson, and Wesley Hampton.

The family would like to express their great appreciation to Dayspring Hospice Staff, and extra special Thank you to their beloved Lynn Sawyer, Daulton Keel, Bobbi Kelly, and Taylor Yarbrough.
