Mary Lynda Lassiter Haynie of Elba, AL passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. She was 76 years old.

Private graveside services will be held at Liberty Church of Christ, 715 Troy Highway, Elba, AL with Minister Greg Hanchey officiating. Burial will follow with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing.

Lynda was born in Athens, GA on October 08, 1949 to the late Dr. William and Mary Sue Kitchens Lassiter. She was a longtime member of Shirley Hills Garden Club in Macon, GA, a town that she dearly loved. It always held a very special place in her heart. She enjoyed beautiful flowers, spending time on and near the farm in Elba, especially watching the cows graze. Lynda loved her home in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia; a place she dearly loved spending time. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Kenneth William Haynie.

Lynda is survived by her devoted daughter, Kim Hughes (Ricky) of Elba, AL; two grandchildren, Darren Holden (Kirstin) of Monroe, GA and Jack Hughes of Blairsville, GA; two great grandchildren, Colton and Grayson Holden, both of Monroe, GA; one brother, Jim Lassiter (Joie) of Demorest, GA and her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Haynie of Jackson, GA.
