ABBEVILLE. . .Mattie Bedsole Scoggins Klink, a resident of Abbeville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 23, 2026, at her home. She was 84.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 26, 2026, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Kevin Kelly and Reverend Clyde Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Friday at Holman Mortuary.

Mattie Klink was born in Dothan, daughter of the late Elige William Bedsole and Nell Hancock Bedsole. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School. Mattie formerly lived in Dothan and Boynton Beach, Florida before returning to Abbeville where she lived most of her lifetime. She retired from WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville where she worked as a Sewing Machine Operator and Shipping Co-Ordinator. While living in Boyton Beach, Florida, she worked in the Corporate Headquarters of Home Depot in Accounting. In later years, Mattie enrolled at Wallace Community College where she received an Associate of Science Degree in Accounting, Computer Science and Office Administration. She loved working in her yard, reading, country music and the beach. Mattie was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bryant Edward Scoggins and Richard Lee Klink, daughter-in-law, Penny Jordan Scoggins and a great-nephew, Coleman Evans.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Terrie East (Gordon), Abbeville; a son, Eddie Scoggins, Columbia; a sister, Sarah Skipper (Ira), Abbeville; a brother, Billy Wayne Bedsole (Vicki), Abbeville; grandchildren, Burton East (Anastasia), and David Scoggins (Jessica), great-grandchildren, Mercedes Scoggins and Brody Payne Scoggins and a great-great grandson, Waylon Ballard; her special niece, Katie Barnes (A.J.) and two great-nephews, Jake Evans and Dakota Evans; step-children, Sandy Dias (Phil), Tim Klink and Jessie Klink; a host of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jake Temple, Nakea Hester, Dakota Evans, Jake Evans, Burton East and David Scoggins.
