May Elizabeth Sumner of Geneva, Alabama, formerly of Titusville, FL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 12, 2026.  She was 75.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time for close family and friends.

May was born in McKinney, TX on June 05, 1951 to the late Dorothy Helenlee Stewart Gigl and her adopted father, William Clarence Gigl. She proudly served her country in the US Navy. She was a faithful member of Christ Central Church in Titusville, FL where she was involved in various duties within the church. She loved to read her Bible daily and was devoted to living her life for Christ. May was loved deeply and will be missed by those who knew her best.

In addition to her parents, a daughter, Jennifer Rebecca Kocher; one brother, David Gigl and one sister, Darlene Council, preceded her in death.

May is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Lloyd Sumner of Geneva, AL; two children, Robert Dwyer of New Orleans, LA and Brandy Commander (Steve) of Hartford, AL; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
